I’m very proud to say I lost my concert virginity to Eminem, I’m just putting it out there. Anyway, the tickets were originally £200-£300 I think? A group of my friends had brought tickets and you know what happens with group events, they all start dropping out like flies. I ended up being offered a ticket for £50 on the day, for me it was a no-brainier as I am a fan of Eminem’s early stuff.
It was on a Sunday, the tube was on strike so one of our friends ended up driving there and actually we were very quite late. Obviously I brought some merch because it was my first concert. It was at Twickenham in London. I had no idea how to work a stadium and where the damn is gate 3?
After making it into the stadium just in time for Eminem, we pushed through the crowds of people trying to get a semi-decent view, which never happened. Everyone was packed as tightly as a can of sardines and after travelling there for 1hr30 I didn’t feel great but kept optimistic, it was all part of the experience, right? Eminem’s newer music started playing and I hadn’t heard any of it, I could hear everyone singing and having a fab time and I felt like a fish out of water.
It got better as it went on though and after getting used to beer being thrown on me and smell of weed, Eminem started playing his older stuff which I loved, it was a great atmosphere and looking around to see the whole stadium with their phone torches on was magical. Ed Sheeran and 50 Cent even came on stage! I mean, that’s cool. There were fireworks and explosions and everything! I was gutted when it was over.
Trying to leave was chaos, passing people who were off their knockers on drugs, like what? People do drugs at concerts? Is that a thing? Although I mist admit, it was funny. All the roads were blocked and the bus stops were surrounded by about 50 people.
All in all, it was a fun great experience and Eminem was fab, along with Ed Sheeran. It was like a rave, but a little more civilised I guess, not really.
Would I go to a concert again? I’m not sure. I won’t be in a rush to go to one, but if the opportunity arises and I love the persons music then I guess so.
Have you ever been to a concert? Tell me about your experiences!
I’ve never been to a concert – they seem like chaos, which fits your description of this one haha. I think I will go to one (maybe more) someday, just gotta find the right one and atmosphere. Also, Eminem has new stuff?? I haven’t heard it either.

Agreed, it was chaos but I think it was definitely worth it for the experience! I think I would have preferred it if I went to one where I knew more of the music and was moreee of a fan. Yeahhh I’m not sure how new I consider his ‘new’ stuff as I’ve always listened to the stuff around when slim shady was released. ☺️

I’m right there with you on all of this. There are some bands/artists I like but only know 4 songs…I’d look lost for the rest of the concert. And yeah, I don’t know much outside of his early 2000 songs lol some fans we are!
